Executive Debrief of Infohrm’s 2009 CFO Survey

Tuesday 21 July 2009, 1pm BST

In March 2009, Finance and HR professionals were surveyed to better understand how CFOs think about workforce issues and the costs associated with them. Major areas of focus included: Financial performance, business and workforce strategy, and key metrics and tools used in making business decisions.

We will be holding an online executive debrief of this study, revealing some interesting findings including:

  • Very few organisations are able to utilise productivity or efficiency related metrics to manage the cost of their workforce.
  • Those organisations that do use workforce measurement tools are reaping the benefit of higher levels of profitability.
  • CFOs are being asked the difficult workforce related questions, including optimal workforce size and staffing mix.
  • Despite the current economic climate, organisations are still looking to build competitive advantage through their workforce.

We will also discuss the benefits and challenges of co-coordinating the response from HR and Finance, and their impact on CFOs and the overall business. This session will be most relevant for CFOs, CEOs and HR Directors.

Maximising the Business Impact of Workforce Reporting

21 July 2009, 4pm BST

In the past, Workforce Reporting – the process of communicating essential and strategic human capital data to the managers who matter– has been highly labour intensive process. Too often these processes produce reports after a significant time delay, leading to the insights being partially redundant.

This session will outline the journey of Infohrm client Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida, discussing how they have improved how key audiences (senior executives and business leaders) apply workforce data in their decisions. We will discuss their metric journey and the important decisions the team made along the way.

You will learn about the following:

  • What constitutes a strategic workforce report
  • How organisations should make the leap from transactional reporting to providing analytical insights to key audiences
  • How to support HR business partners in delivering workforce reports to their business leaders
  • Techniques for improving the quality of workforce data

This session will be beneficial for HR Directors and Managers, HRIT/HRIS managers, workforce planning, reporting and/or analytics staff and individuals responsible for strategic talent management initiatives.
